Edmund Blair Leighton, 1852-1922, was an English painter of historical genre scenes, specializing in Regency and medieval subjects. Mr E Blair Leighton had been a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He exhibited at the Royal Academy for over forty years. In 1881 securing the verdict of the Hanging Committee of the Royal Academy in favour of two Edmund Blair Leighton paintings, entitled respectively ‘Witness My Act and Seal,’ and ‘A Flaw in the Title.’ Since then his highly wrought art style was regularly represented at Burlington House. -- The Copyright of Scripts is Reserved by Toperfect.
