Frederic Sackrider Remington, 1861-1909, was an American painter and illustrator in the "Golden Age" concentrating on the 19th-century American West and paintings of cowboys, American Indians, and the U. S. Cavalry. Remington paintings made him a favorite of the Western Army officers fighting the last Indian battles. He was one of the first American artists to illustrate the true gait of the horse in motion. In 1991 PBS filmed a documentary of Remington's life; he was also portrayed in the TNT miniseries Rough Riders (1997). -- The Copyright of Scripts is Reserved by Toperfect.
