Hans Memling, 1430-1494, was a German-born painter and worked in the tradition of Early Netherlandish painting. He made both portraits and diptychs and several large religious oil painting. Memling's reputation was not confined to Italy or Flanders. The Madonna and Saints in Louvre, Paris, the Virgin and Child in National Gallery, London, and the four attributed portraits in the Uffizi Gallery of Florence, show that Hans Memling paintings were widely appreciated in the 16th century. -- The Copyright of Scripts is Reserved by Toperfect.
