George Frederic Watts, 1817-1904, was a popular English Victorian painter associated with the Symbolist movement
. He became famous in his lifetime for his allegorical artworks, such as Hope, and Love and Life. These George Frederic Watts paintings were intended to form part of an epic symbolic cycle called the "House of Life". In the late art Watts creative aspirations mutate into mystical images such as The Sower of the Systems, in which the artist seems to anticipate abstract art. Many of his oil paintings are held at the Tate Gallery. -- The Copyright of Scripts is Reserved by Toperfect.
