Frits Thaulow, 1847-1906, was a Norwegian impressionist painter, best known for naturalistic works of landscape. He was one of the earliest artists to paint in Skagen of Jutland. Frits Thaulow had specialized in marine paintings with subjects of the fishermen and the boats on the shore. He is one of the leading figures in the Norwegian art scene, received the French Legion of Honor. The National Gallery of Norway features 37 of Frits Thaulow paintings.
