Dali artwork The Persistence of MemoryOil painting on canvas,24x33cm, is collected in Dali gallery New York Modern Museum. Painted in 1931,Persistence of Memory, Melting Clocks is usually called as Dali Clock, is a typical expression of early super-realistic style. The Salvador Dali painting shows a void beach where a horse-like monster lies. Beside the monster is a platform with a withered tree. The most surprising point of The Persistence of Memory lies in the weak Dali clocks. |
|
They hanging on the branches, lying on the platform or draping over the back of the monster, seem to be fatigued to the extreme after a long
journey of time. Salvador Dali admitted that The Persistence of Memory
performed the dream world and megrim proclaimed by Freud and the artwork was a
record of his dream. The artist Dali once went to the mental institution to know the
consciousness of the mental patients. Dali believed that their opinions and
actions were truly reflections of their subconscious world. Perhaps the charming
of surrealistic paintings by Dali, The Persistence of Memory,
is to give the audiences a chance to experience the
liberation from the realistic world like a mental patient.
Flaccid shapes, anamorphous and double-sided figures producing a
trompe-l'œil effect combine in these paintings of Dali to create an
extraordinary universe where the erotic and the scatological jostle with a
fascination for decay - a universe that is reflected in other paintings Salvador Dali. |

Dali Elephants1, The Elephants Dali 1948 Oil painting on canvas Private collection The Elephants, is called Los Elefantes in Spanish. Dalí Elephants continues his theme of using spider-legged Elephants. Elephants Dali is also a recurring image in works of Dali. It first appeared in the oil painting Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening in 1944. Dali elephants portrayed "with long, multijointed, almost invisible legs of desire" along with obelisks on their backs. Coupled with the brittle legs, these encumbrances create a sense of phantom reality. One analysis thought that Dali elephants are distortion in space, its spindly legs contrasting the idea of weightlessness with structure. Salvador Dali painting pictures which made him die for joy, the artist was creating with an absolute naturalness, without the slightest aesthetic concern, he was making things that inspire him with a profound emotion and he was trying to paint them honestly. 2, Swans Reflecting Elephants 1937 Oil on canvas Dimensions 51 cm × 77 cm (20.08 in × 30.31 in) Private collection This Salvador Dali artwork is from his Paranoiac-critical period. As with Metamorphosis of Narcissus shown at Dali gallery, Swans Reflecting Elephants uses the reflection to create the double image seen in a lake. In the picture of art Dali, the three swans in front of bleak, leafless trees are reflected in the lake, the swans' heads become the elephants' heads, but the trees become the bodies of elephants Dali. A Catalonian landscape depicted in fiery fall colors in the background of the Salvador Dali art. To contrast with the stillness of the water, Salvator created swirls in the cliffs that surround the lake. Painted using oil on canvas, Salvador Dali works contain one of his famous double images that were a major part of his "paranoia-critical method". Dali quotes said, "spontaneous method of irrational understanding based upon the interpretative critical association of delirious phenomena." Salvadore Dali used this method to bring forth the hallucinatory forms, double images and visual illusions that filled Dali Salvador paintings during the 1930s. ---- wikipedia.org |

Dali Rose / Meditative RoseThis piece of bird-and-flower painting is Dali surrealism, Dali rose was finished in 1958.Dali Salvadore uses a common image in some of earlier works to be the dominant. Dali Rose symbolized sexual organs and menstruation as dealing with female sex. We know that the red color is used for passion and can also be association with death. Maybe the artist had the idea of using it to symbolize the love of the couples at bottom of the art by Dali. The contrast of the red color against the blue sky in Dali Salvador art really signifies the intense passion of the couples' relationship. The drop of water on the petal in Dali rose symbolizes the reality of the the intensity of the relationship. Possibly this Salvador Dali artwork was to show his love for Gala. |

Some commentators regarded it as the best of works of Dali and its accomplishment is not only far beyond the famous Picasso Guernica to accuse of the Spanish Civil War, but also rivals the paintings accusing of wars by Goya. Art Salvador Dali The Soft Construction with Boiled Beans--Premonition of Civil War is also setting in the landscape of Dali's hometown. Salvador Dali depicted an extremely contorted and fragmented monster to symbolize the cruel of the war. The landscape, including the boats, overlooked by Jesus is a scene taken from Salvador Dali’s hometown Galilee. In the art Dali Christ of Saint John of the Cross Jesus is healthy and strong, no pains, no nail mark even no blood. Dali salvatore found a famous well-built man in Hollywood, and took him a photo from the top as the model of his painting.
