Jan Jacob Coenraad Spohler was a pupil of Jan Willem Pieneman (1779-1853) an artist who was often deemed to be the founder of Dutch 19th Century painting. Spohler trained with Pieneman in Amsterdam, but he is also known to have worked in Haarlem and in Brussels. |
