Giuseppe Arcimboldo, 1526-1593, was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative oil painting portrait heads made of fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, and books. The artist is known as a 16th-century Mannerist. He also tried to show his appreciation of nature through his portraits.
