Winslow Homer, 1836- 1910, was an American landscape painter, best known for his marine paintings. He was considered one of the foremost painters in 19th-century America and a preeminent figure in American art. He never taught in a school or privately, but Winslow Homer paintings strongly influenced succeeding generations of American painters. His famous oils art "Breezing Up", is now hanging in the National Gallery in Washington DC. In 2010, The Postal Service issued a 44-cent commemorative stamp featuring Winslow Homer art, Boys in a Pasture. -- The Copyright of Scripts is Reserved by Toperfect.
