The prevailing hues of Sidney Richard Percy paintings were earth tones and soft greens, accentuated by a variety of pastel hues. The detail in his oil painting is part of its appeal. Prince Albert the Royal consort in 1854 gave Percy art as a gift to his wife Queen Victoria.
