Rudolf Ernst（Rodolphe Ernst）, 1854-1932, was a Austro-French painter who was best known for orientalist motifs. He began as genre painter from 1885, devoted himself to paintings with Islamic scenes, such as the interiors of mosques. He also painted harem scenes and portrayals of everyday life in North Africa.
