Sir John Everett Millais, 1829-1896, was an English painter who was one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. At the age of 11 he became the youngest student to enter the Royal Academy Schools. Many John Everett Millais paintings were of an historical theme. His landscape art usually depicted difficult or dangerous terrain, and many oils artworks were in autumnal or in early winter and showed the bleak, dank, water fringed bog or moor, loch and riverside
