Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, 1591-1666, was an Italian Baroque painter. The vigorous naturalism of his early manner is in contrast to the classical equilibrium of later Guercino paintings. He completed no fewer than 106 large altarpieces for churches, and other paintings amount to about 144. The artist also drew landscapes, genre subjects, and caricatures for his own enjoyment. The Guercino exhibition displayed at the National Museum in Warsaw in 2013-2014, comprised 80 works, including 33 oil paintings. -- The Copyright of Scripts is Reserved by Toperfect.
