Elihu Vedder, 1836-1923, was an American symbolist painter in art Movement of Realism and Pre-Raphaelites, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The most memorable Elihu Vedder paintings notable with romantic imagery and often Oriental influences include 'The Roc's Egg', 'The Fisherman and the Genii' and one famous oil painting 'Lair of the Sea Serpent.'
